My Story
I spent most of my 20s knowing something wasn’t right, but struggling to get anyone to take it seriously.
I was exhausted in a way that sleep couldn’t fix. My weight was increasing, my hair was thinning, and I was developing vitiligo — watching my body change in ways I couldn’t explain or control. I didn’t look unwell, and that became part of the problem.
Because I appeared “fine” on the outside, it was difficult for others to understand how unwell I felt on the inside. Over the years I moved from practitioner to practitioner, being told it was stress, anxiety, or lifestyle-related. Slowly, I started to feel dismissed — and I started to doubt myself.
When I was finally diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, I finally had an answer but not a resolution. Medication helped, but it didn’t explain everything. I was still fatigued, still symptomatic, and still not myself.
The turning point came when I stopped searching for a quick fix and began taking a clinical, evidence-based approach to my own health. I started working with my bloodwork, addressing gut health, and understanding how nutrition influences thyroid and hormonal function at a deeper level.
Over time, everything shifted. My energy returned, my symptoms improved, and I eventually came off medication entirely. Today, I manage my thyroid health through nutrition and feel better in my 40s than I ever did in my 20s.
That experience has shaped the practitioner I am today. I combine clinical training with lived experience understanding both the science, and what it feels like to be dismissed, exhausted, and searching for answers.
